Tabasam or as his friends call him Tabse, is a graduate footwear designer. Tabasam graduated in July 2017 with First Class Honours from De Montfort University, Leicester, UK in BA (Hons) Footwear Design. Tabasam secured his responsibility in employment in Global Workwear Company as a Junior Footwear Designer.
Tabasam started the footwear design course at De Montfort University in September 2014. During his time at De Montfort University, Tabasam has learnt the art and craft of shoemaking, pattern cutting, design/development, illustration, participating in International design competitions, market, trend and colour forecasting, foot analysis, CAD and 2D and 3D translation techniques. This has provided Tabasam with the valuable development of skills necessary to design and hand make a shoe from clicking to finishing.
“The second year has been the toughest year with 13 or more projects on the go consecutively. I’m glad I went through this period as it has taught me a lot about myself and what is required from me to succeed. I learnt how to manage my time with projects and how stressing sets you up to fail in your goals therefore having a time structure to tackle those projects assists in meeting those deadlines" (Tabasam).
Tabasam has great hand drawing sketches accompanied by thoughtful evaluation, each new concept develops from the previous attempt. The depth of experimentation allows Tabasam to explore different elements and how ideas can be manipulated. Tabasam creates and renders his footwear designs in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and to display his work content Tabasam uses Adobe InDesign. Tabasam has also spent his time learning to use Sketchbook Pro which is used to sketch, draw and render. Tabasam has used and displayed his work using these programs which can be viewed in Tabasam’s portfolio.
